HEAD OF ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT 2 – HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT FOR GENERAL AND LEGAL AFFAIRS
Based on Article 12 of the Statute of Sveučilište Jurja Dobrile u Puli, and in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 1 of the Basic Collective Agreement for civil servants and employees in public services (NN 29/2024) and Article 5 of the Ordinance on the announcement and implementation of public competitions for employment to civil servant and employee positions, the Rector of Sveučilište Jurja Dobrile u Puli, prof. dr. sc. Marinko Škare, announces
COMPETITION
for the selection of an employee for the job of type I – head of organizational unit 2 –*Head of the Department for General and Legal Affairs** for an indefinite period, in full-time employment – 1 performer (m/f), with a mandatory probationary period of six (6) months
Requirements:
- completed university graduate studies or university integrated undergraduate and graduate studies of law,
- at least 8 (eight) years of work experience in corresponding jobs,
- active knowledge of the English language in speech and writing,
- expressed organizational abilities and communication skills,
- computer literacy.
Job description: Organizes the work of the Department and is responsible for the timely and lawful execution of tasks within the Department's competence, determines priorities in resolution and deadlines, supervises work discipline and gives instructions and orders to employees in the Department, coordinates the execution of tasks within the Department and is responsible for establishing communication and performing tasks between the Department and other organizational units, ensures that all legal tasks are performed in accordance with deadlines, regulations and standards of the legal profession, participates in the preparation and convening of Senate sessions, prepares and drafts legal documentation, including contracts, legal acts, regulations and other documents, ensures the legal compliance of internal regulations and activities of the University with current laws and regulations, provides legal advice and support to employees and components and cooperates with external legal experts as needed, maintains contacts and cooperates with relevant internal and external stakeholders including state institutions, ministries, unions and other partners, monitors changes in legislation and proposes necessary amendments to internal acts, performs other tasks by order of the prorectors, secretary of the University and the head of the Service for General and Legal Affairs, asset management and maintenance and is directly responsible to them for their work.
Along with the hand-signed application to the competition, applicants are obliged to attach:
a) curriculum vitae b) copy of diploma (applicants who obtained the qualification abroad must attach an explanatory opinion of the competent agency on the foreign educational qualification) c) proof of citizenship (copy of identity card, passport, domicile certificate, or electronic record from the register of citizens) d) proof of work experience (electronic record or confirmation of data recorded in the master record of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute („ispis staža“) from which the employer, duration of insurance period, actual and required professional qualification or employer's confirmation or other document (copy of employment contract, decisions, etc.) from which it is visible in which profession, on which jobs and for what duration work experience was achieved. We note that a confirmation from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute regarding salary is not to be submitted) e) certificate that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against the candidate, not older than 3 months from the date of publication of the public competition
Applicants are admitted to employment with a probationary period of six months.
The mentioned documents and attachments are submitted as uncertified copies in the Croatian language and Latin script.
Persons of both sexes have the right to apply to the competition under equal conditions. Expressions used in this competition that have a gender meaning are used neutrally and apply equally to both sexes.
Applicants who exercise the right of advantage in employment according to special regulations are obliged in the application for the competition to refer to that right and, along with the application for the competition, to submit a certificate of recognized status from which the mentioned right is visible. Applicants exercise advantage in employment compared to other applicants only under equal conditions. For applicants registered for the public competition who submit a timely and regular application and fulfill the formal requirements of the public competition, an interview will be conducted. Applicants will be timely informed about the time and place of the interview.
If an applicant does not attend the interview, it will be considered that they have withdrawn their application for the competition.
The University reserves the right not to select any applicant for the competition.
A regular application is considered to be a hand-signed application that contains all the data and attachments specified in the public competition. A person who has not submitted a timely and regular application or does not fulfill the formal requirements of the public competition is not considered a candidate applied for the public competition, of which they will be provided with a written notice.
Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered.
By applying for the competition, applicants are explicitly agreeing that Sveučilište Jurja Dobrile u Puli, as the controller of the personal data collection, may collect, use, and further process data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure, in accordance with national regulations and internal acts on personal data protection, ensuring the correctness of the procedure with that data on the part of all persons to whom access to the data will be legally enabled, which includes their use exclusively for lawful purposes and in no way that could be considered contrary to the interests of the applicants.
The deadline for submitting applications is 8 (eight) days from the day of publication of the competition on the University's web pages and the official web pages of the Hrvatski zavod za zapošljavanje.
Applications with attachments are submitted in person or by registered mail to the Rektorat Sveučilišta Jurja Dobrile u Puli, Zagrebačka 30, 52100 Pula (1st floor, Department for Human Resources Management) with the notation „za natječaj“ (for the competition) stating the name of the job position.
Notice of the outcome of the competition procedure will be published on the University's web pages.
