WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

As Head of Research, you lead and coordinate the work at the research unit within the Monetary Policy Department. Primarily, you lead the overall direction of the research as well as follow up and evaluate the research against set goals. You also plan and coordinate the work with policy support and research conferences. You conduct your own research together with the employees and maintain an international network and collaborate with other research institutions and central banks. You represent Riksbanken in the international research sphere and contribute to its visibility and status in academic and policy discussions. As the leader of the unit, you work with business development and create conditions for employees to develop. You are part of the management group for the Monetary Policy Department and are an important link to the Riksbanken Executive Board.

MORE ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has a PhD in economics or equivalent, with a specialization in one of the areas of monetary policy, macroeconomics, financial economics, or econometrics. You have several publications in journals of high international standard, a broad network of researchers within relevant areas, and experience in working with how research can be translated into policy. It is meritorious if you understand and can communicate in Swedish. You have a very good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Experience working within an international organization, another central bank, or a related authority is meritorious. You should have a great interest in both providing the researchers in the unit opportunities for individual development and maintaining and strengthening the Riksbanken research unit's good reputation in Sweden and internationally. You should also have a great interest in, and deep knowledge of, Riksbanken-relevant policy issues.

As a person, you are proactive, goal- and result-oriented, and have good collaborative skills. We attach great importance to personal qualities.

Employment type: Permanent employment, probationary employment may be applied

Location: Office in central Stockholm

Working hours: Flexible working hours

Possibility to work remotely: 1 or 2 days a week
