A day includes:
- Reviewing and building store planograms, working with Buyers and Merchandisers to deliver layouts that work for our customers and store teams.
- Working with suppliers to find the best fixture solutions to help customers understand and shop our ranges.
- Supporting strong promotional plans, considering which products are available in which stores.
- Getting involved in key company projects.
- Building an understanding of our customers to help make the right ranging and merchandising decisions.
- Helping improve the quality of stock in stores and supporting the visibility of our Own Brand products.
Key Responsibilities:
Planogram Management Work closely with the Merchandise Planner and Buying team to agree range review objectives and ensure these are met across all plans within the agreed timeline. Coordinate planning meetings with all relevant stakeholders. Ensure all planograms meet visual merchandising guidelines and planogram rules. Manage discontinued stock effectively within category planograms and highlight key risks before plans go live. Understand the impact of de-ranged stock on the business and take appropriate steps to minimise this. Build plans in the merchandise centre or with supplier category teams ahead of range reviews, as required. Agree and deliver range review communications ahead of launch, coordinating with Store Operations. Deliver planograms to stores and respond promptly to store team queries.
Fixtures and Merchandising Solutions Ensure all fixtures are included in the planning process and positioned on planograms in line with merchandising principles. Manage fixture projects and critical paths for your categories, meeting category objectives within agreed budgets and timescales. Analyse the impact of fixtures and trays in stores, sharing data and findings with the wider team.
Range Management Maintain accurate category range plans, keeping them up to date with new lines and range changes. Range new products to stores and update category range plans accordingly. Take ownership of weekly linked-line management for the team. Understand the Superdrug shopper and develop range plans that reflect the needs of each customer segment.
Promotional Planograms Own the promotional planogram sign-off process for Hair, Personal Care and Convenience, building all planograms in line with the critical path. Ensure the sign-off sheet is approved by the Senior Visual Planner. Review and challenge product facings using promotional forecasts and SKU-level distribution. Ensure plans are communicated clearly and efficiently through the promotional bulletin. Maintain weekly trackers and run reports for the wider team.
Stakeholder Relationships Build and maintain effective working relationships with store teams, internal departments, suppliers and other external stakeholders. Support key company projects and deliver work within agreed budgets and timescales.
What you need to succeed:
- Experience working in a store environment or another visual planning role.
- Strong attention to detail, with an awareness of the bigger picture.
- Confidence to challenge the status quo and suggest improvements.
- A team-focused approach and the ability to collaborate with other departments.
- A desire to do what is best for our customers.
- Good numerical, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
