Customs Support
About the Position
As part of the U.S. Customs Support team, you will play an important role in keeping import and export shipments moving during the customs clearance process. You will provide administrative and operational support by coordinating documentation, tracking shipments, requesting and following up on pending information, and communicating with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented person with a sense of urgency and follow-up, and an interest in developing knowledge about United States customs processes and international trade.
What You Will Do
- Support import and export activities through the preparation, review, and organization of customs and shipment documentation.
- Provide support in the preparation of ISF, pedimentos/customs entries, cargo release, and shipment tracking.
- Follow up on shipments and estimated arrival dates, proactively tracking pending documentation or information.
- Maintain communication with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure that shipments and customs processes advance in a timely manner.
- Keep shipment records and company systems updated, as well as provide support in basic invoicing, costs, and operational reports.
- Identify and escalate customs or operational issues while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, administration, or customer service, preferably.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a dynamic, time-oriented operational environment.
- Ability to work independently and, at the same time, collaborate effectively with a team.
- Basic English for communication and willingness to learn about United States customs, import, and export processes.
