πŸ“‹ Core Responsibilities

  1. JOULES Programme & Smart Centre Management
  • Technical Setup: Prepare and set up STEM equipment and devices (such as micro:bit, simple electric circuits, sensors, solar panels, and m5GO) for student lessons.
  • Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, maintenance, and staff booking schedules for the JOULES Smart Centre .
  • Inventory Control: Create, monitor, and update equipment checklists termly. Document and condemn damaged or missing assets.
  • Instructional Support: Assist trainers and teachers during lessons. (Ability to conduct independent workshops or training for students is highly preferred).
  • Professional Growth: Attend fully-sponsored professional development workshops alongside teaching staff to stay updated on the latest STEM trends.
  1. Applied Learning Programme (ALP) & Makerspace Culture
  • Safety & Supervision: Supervise students to ensure safe and proper tool handling within the school's Makerspace .
  • Advanced Tech Operations: Participate in the installation, layout, and operation of cutting-edge prototyping equipment (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters, and Virtual Reality systems).
  • Financial & Logistics Support: Collaborate with the ALP Committee to manage the resource budget, source materials, and procure items based on staff and student inputs.

🎯 Job Requirements

  • Education: A Polytechnic Diploma, preferably in a STEM-related discipline. Candidates without a diploma but possessing strong, relevant technical experience are welcome to apply.
  • Experience: Ideally 3 years of relevant experience in prototyping, manufacturing environments, or school lab environments. Knowledge of fabrication techniques and prototyping machinery is a major plus.
  • Soft Skills: Meticulous, independent worker capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Must be an effective team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Days: Mondays to Fridays
  • Time: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Includes a 1-hour lunch break)
  • School Holiday Perks: Services are not required during specific school holidays (2 weeks in June; 6 weeks in November–December).
  • Rest Days: Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and all gazetted Public Holidays.
