Science Laboratory & Department Support Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Preparation: Prepare materials, specimens, and apparatus accurately for daily Science lessons and practical experiments.
- Laboratory Management: Manage, operate, and maintain science laboratories and relevant outdoor learning facilities to ensure a safe environment.
- Inventory Control: Carry out regular stocktaking of Science resources, equipment, and consumables.
- Artefact Curating: Showcase and curate students' Science artefacts and projects to facilitate teachers' reflections.
- Ad-Hoc Duties: Execute general administrative support and other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the school department.
The hours vary by school period:
School Terms & Holidays (January to November): Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break)Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break)
Year-End Period (December): Flexible deployment of once a week (up to 4 times a month).Each session lasts exactly 3 hours .
Job Requirements
- Education: Minimum GCE N-Levels or equivalent qualification, with a strong subject background related to Science.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in administration and operations is preferred, ideally supporting Science activities in a local school environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and digital media skills (video/picture taking).
- Soft Skills: Excellent team-player traits, exceptional organizational abilities, multi-tasking capabilities, and strong communication skills.
- Language: Fluency and proficiency in English are preferred.
