Teacher in Spanish and English grades 6-9 to Lidens skola
Welcome to Sundsvalls kommun!
Sundsvalls kommun is one of Norrland's largest employers with around 8,000 employees and over 300 professions. Together, we fulfill one of the most important missions in society – to create utility and value for residents, companies, and future generations. Regardless of the operation, we work for the same thing: that we should be a good place to live, reside, and work.
Right now, we are in an exciting development phase. We are a driving force in digital development and artificial intelligence, and together we create smart solutions for the residents of Sundsvall today and in the future.
We are facing major transitions to meet the needs of citizens in the long term - do you want to join us on that journey?
Within the Barn- och utbildningsförvaltningen, our approximately 3,000 employees meet approximately 14,000 children and students every day in more than 100 preschools and schools around the municipality. Every child and student in Sundsvalls kommun's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals according to their own individual circumstances. Every student should be able to leave school with the will, knowledge, and good conditions to meet adult life and the future.
Your new workplace
Lidens skola is an F-9 school in northwestern Sundsvalls kommun, 45 minutes from central Sundsvall. The school's profile is Outdoor Life, Culture, and Leadership that promotes health and security. We have a fine, purposeful indoor and outdoor environment, e.g., school forest, spontaneous sports park, modern laboratory, as well as a nationally award-winning restaurant. The school has one class in each grade in 7-9, and in F-6 there are three classes in B-form. Our close cooperation with guardians, varied teaching, and value-added activities ensure that we achieve good results for our students. We need to hire several teachers on the condition that no redundancy arises in another part of the municipality that would result in one of the positions being filled that way.
How you contribute in the role of teacher
As a teacher with us, you are responsible for driving and developing the pedagogical work with the students to increase their goal achievement. This means that you, individually and together with colleagues, plan, evaluate, and follow up on the students' knowledge development. You collaborate with other pedagogues at the school, in your subject, and with other subject teachers. You work according to the school's governing documents and actively contribute to the work in the systematic quality work and in the continuing education conducted based on the school's needs. The position may include mentorship for a class, together with a colleague with a different subject qualification. When you are not teaching, you see other meetings with students as important and often move around the students' meeting places at the school.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who is a qualified teacher with a license for teaching in Spanish and English for grades 6-9, and holds a degree or equivalent education. You also have a genuine interest in spending time in nature as well as good knowledge in teaching students in need of support. We also want you to be well acquainted with the curriculum and other governing documents. You take your own initiative and achieve good results through differentiated teaching. The work requires good cooperation skills and the ability to create good relationships with students and their guardians. We request a confident employee with natural leadership in the classroom. In your leadership, you have the ability to create motivation, participation, and engagement for the students in their learning.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
