Overhead Crane Maintenance Technician
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of overhead/EOT cranes. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to ensure safe and reliable crane operation. Maintain and repair motors, gearboxes, brakes, wire ropes, hooks, wheels, limit switches and other crane components. Inspect and maintain electrical control panels, contactors, relays, switches and related electrical systems. Conduct preventive maintenance, lubrication, adjustment and replacement of worn or damaged components. Identify potential equipment failures and safety hazards and report them to the supervisor promptly. Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs when required. Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance, repairs and spare parts replacement. Follow all company safety procedures and ensure that maintenance work is carried out in a safe manner. Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Requirements
Technical/Vocational Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in overhead crane/EOT crane maintenance. Good knowledge of crane mechanical and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with motors, gearboxes, brakes, wire ropes, hooks, limit switches and electrical control panels. Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical faults. Experience with VFDs, PLCs and crane control systems is an advantage. Relevant electrical, mechanical or crane maintenance certification is preferred. Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills. Physically fit and able to work at heights when required. Willing to work shifts, overtime and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns when necessary. Responsible, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
