Bridge Crane Mechanic
Job Responsibilities
Carry out routine inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of overhead cranes (EOT cranes), electric hoists, and other lifting equipment. Inspect and maintain key mechanical components, including wire ropes, hooks, brakes, gearboxes, pulleys, wheels, bearings, and crane rails. Inspect and troubleshoot electrical components such as motors, control panels, contactors, relays, limit switches, push-button controls, and remote-control systems. Diagnose and repair crane faults, including abnormal noise, vibration, brake failure, uneven movement, and control system faults. Perform preventive maintenance according to the established maintenance schedule to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime. Respond promptly to emergency equipment breakdowns and provide effective troubleshooting and repair support. Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, breakdowns, and spare parts used. Follow all company safety procedures, HSE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when carrying out maintenance work. Work closely with the Production and Engineering teams to ensure cranes and lifting equipment remain safe and operational. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers during crane inspections, major repairs, servicing, and equipment upgrades. Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company safety standards. Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the supervisor or Engineering Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Certificate, Diploma, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field . At least 2 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience . Previous experience with overhead cranes, EOT cranes, electric hoists, lifting equipment, or industrial machinery is preferred. Good understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults. Basic to good knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, contactors, relays, limit switches, control panels, and control circuits. Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals. Good knowledge of crane components such as wire ropes, hooks, brakes, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, wheels, and hoisting mechanisms. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Good understanding of workplace safety, HSE requirements, and safe maintenance practices. Ability to work at heights and in a factory environment. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns when required. Relevant technical or crane maintenance certification will be an advantage.
