The Food Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily food production activities in the manufacturing or central kitchen. The role involves supervising production staff, coordinating food preparation and cooking processes, monitoring production quantities and food quality, and ensuring that production is carried out efficiently and according to the company's food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily food production activities.
  • Plan and organise production schedules according to customer orders and requirements.
  • Assign duties to production workers, cooks, food preparation staff, and packing staff.
  • Monitor the preparation, cooking, portioning, packing, and storage of food products.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved within the required timeframe.
  • Check the quality, freshness, taste, appearance, and portion size of food products.
  • Ensure ingredients are properly prepared and used according to production requirements.
  • Monitor the quantity of raw materials and finished food products.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing or store team to ensure sufficient ingredients and packaging materials are available.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished products.
  • Monitor food production processes to minimise wastage and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Ensure workers follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Check that production equipment is operated safely and report equipment problems to management.
  • Train and guide production workers on work procedures, food handling, and production standards.
  • Monitor staff attendance, work performance, and compliance with workplace procedures.
  • Conduct regular checks during production to identify and rectify quality or operational issues.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, packing, logistics, and management teams to ensure smooth production and timely delivery.
  • Maintain basic production records, stock records, and production reports where required.
  • Ensure finished products are properly packed, labelled, and prepared for delivery.
  • Assist in handling urgent or large-volume production orders.
  • Report production issues, shortages, quality concerns, and equipment faults to management.
  • Perform other duties related to food production as assigned by management.

Skills & Requirements

  • Previous experience in food production, central kitchen, catering, food manufacturing, or F&B operations.
  • Experience supervising kitchen or production workers is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking, food handling, and hygiene practices.
  • Able to organise production activities and manage a team.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Responsible, organised, and able to meet production deadlines.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required.
