Senior Project Advisor

SPIDER (the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) is an independent center at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University that focuses on the digitalization of international development cooperation.

We are now seeking a senior project advisor to SPIDER with broad experience in international development cooperation, project management, and capacity development. The role involves providing strategic and operational support within iPRIS, with a particular focus on project management, inclusion, and DEI, reporting, research, and international cooperation.

The work takes place in an international and cross-professional environment and involves close collaboration with project management, colleagues, project partners, and other external actors.

Tasks

The role of senior project advisor includes:

• Providing strategic and operational support to the project management and implementation of iPRIS.
• Contributing to project planning, monitoring, reporting, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Planning and implementing training and capacity development initiatives within project management and DEI.
• Providing advice regarding leadership, project development, change initiatives, diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Contributing to the preparation of the project's outcome and final reports as well as other relevant deliverables.
• Contributing to research work, including analysis, documentation of lessons learned, and co-authoring scientific publications.
• Supporting collaboration and networking with national, regional, and international partners.
• Contributing contextual and strategic advice, especially regarding African and European development contexts.
• Representing SPIDER and iPRIS at relevant national and international meetings and activities.

International business travel occurs.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Higher academic degree in a relevant field or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer to be equivalent.
• Extensive experience at a senior level in international development cooperation and project management.
• Documented experience in project planning, monitoring, and reporting within international projects.
• Documented knowledge of diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) as well as experience in implementing training or capacity development initiatives.
• Experience working with international and multidisciplinary teams and partners.
• Very good communicative, diplomatic, and intercultural skills.
• Very good ability to work professionally in French and Portuguese.
• Very good ability to express oneself orally and in writing in English.

Meritorious

• Experience of development cooperation in African, European, and Swedish contexts.
• Experience working with results frameworks and logical frameworks.
• Experience co-authoring scientific articles or other academic publications.
• Experience working with digitalization or global digital development (ICT4D).
• Experience of collaboration with authorities, regional organizations, or other public actors.
• Experience working in international programs with multiple partner organizations.

About the employment

The employment is for full-time and is time-limited to 12 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
