The Stiftung Staatstheater Augsburg organizes over 940 performances of 44 different productions per year across five sectors: music theater, ballet, drama, concert, digital theater, the networking platform Plan A, and the children's and youth theater. With our more than 400 employees, we reach approximately 187,000 spectators. The Große Haus is currently being renovated; operations are taking place in the interim venues in the martini-Park and the brechtbühne in the Gaswerk.

We are looking for a

Technical Production Manager (m/f/d)

to start on 18.01.2027.

Your tasks:

• Technical organization, planning, and supervision of the implementation of our new productions in cooperation with the Technical Direction and the management of the workshops
• Cost calculation and monitoring of production budgets with the management of the workshops
• Support for the Technical Direction in organizational and technical matters
• Material research and procurement for productions applying the applicable procurement law
• Production of technical drawings, floor plans, and sections
• Observation and compliance with the applicable regulations, standards, and service instructions for the field of work
• Organization of measures in connection with productions, for example, the agreement and coordination of appointments or consultations with authorities and preventive fire protection
• Application submission for the execution of events
• Technical and organizational examination of guest performance requests in the house
• Organization, documentation, and communication of production content and processes
• Duty scheduling and management of the set assistants

You bring with you:

• A completed degree in Theater- und Veranstaltungstechnik / Maschinenbau / Architektur / Bühnenbild or a degree as Meister:in für Veranstaltungstechnik with relevant professional experience in a theater or a comparable activity, or general experience in a comparable position
• IT skills and good 3D-CAD knowledge (preferably MegaCAD); knowledge of statics and construction
• Foreign language skills (English, proficient in speaking and writing)
• Experience in the workflows of theater operations as well as understanding and interest in the (especially artistic) peculiarities
• Independent and responsible working style
• Communication and teamwork skills as well as negotiation skills
• Ability to cooperate and manage conflicts
• Readiness to work in alternating shifts as well as on Sundays and public holidays, subject to scheduling due to performance operations
• The ability to creatively accompany artistic processes is required

Excellent theoretical and practical specialist knowledge, as well as very good communication skills and very high social competence, are as much a matter of course for this leadership position as the willingness to undergo further training in the relevant competence areas.
