Substitute Stage Manager

Dansens Hus is seeking a substitute stage manager who can lead the technical production process for assigned productions during 2019

Job Content: You lead the technical work for assigned projects and productions; including design, planning, and implementation.

You supervise the technical production team and are responsible for communication with visiting productions. You are responsible for information regarding technology, technical planning, and logistics, both internally and externally. You are responsible for ensuring that all technical work steps occurring on the stages are performed in a safe manner, and that stage technical equipment and rigging meet applicable safety requirements. You are responsible for the stage's fire safety and any potential evacuation. You program the lighting control system and perform tasks across the entire theater technical field within the scope of your competence. You are part of the Dansens Hus production department and report to the production manager.

Who are you? We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and culture who has several years of experience working as a stage manager.

You need to be an excellent organizer, have social competence, and be accustomed to communicating both verbally and in writing. We assume that you are used to working independently, but at the same time, you need to have good collaborative skills both within and outside the organization. Good structure and ability to cooperate are prioritized. You are used to working towards deadlines and solving problems on the fly. You have documented work experience in project management and supervision within the performing arts field. Post-secondary education specializing in technology, sound, and light is a merit. You have good computer skills and experience working in drawing tools such as, for example, VectorWorks.

Since we work extensively with international contacts, good English in speech and writing is a prerequisite for the job. Additional language skills are a merit.

You should be goal-oriented, attentive, and meticulous.
