Substitute Lighting Master

We are looking for someone with high lighting technology competence and experience from theater or dance.

It is required that you can both lead your colleagues and be a part of the teamwork. In the function of lighting master, it is required that you are structured, driven, and responsible, with an eye for the whole. High safety awareness is an absolute requirement.

We would prefer if you have relevant theater technology education, or at least 3 years of professional experience within lighting technology.

We want you to have:

• Very good knowledge within lighting technology
• Knowledge of English in speech and writing
• Good computer skills
• Ability to collaborate
• Good ability for independent work
• Knowledge of electricity as well as technical problem-solving

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Knowledge of Vector works
• Valid training certificate for mobile work platforms
• Experience of work within other theater technology areas
• Experience from lighting dance

Dansens Hus is looking for a substitute lighting master during the 2018/2019 season.

As a lighting master at Dansens Hus, you are independently responsible for assigned guest performance productions; design, planning, and implementation. The work includes rigging, lighting console programming, and performance operation.

You participate in the daily maintenance of premises, storage, and equipment.

Dansens Hus technical department consists of ten technicians within sound, light, stage, and video. In addition to the lighting technology work, the position includes participating in all occurring theater technology tasks.

We are Dansens Hus was inaugurated in 1991 and is located in Folkets Hus at Norra Bantorget in central Stockholm.

Dansens Hus is primarily funded through public funds and receives its operating funds through the budget bill. The second major contributor is Stockholm stad.

The operations are conducted in the old Folkets hus in Stockholm on its two stages Lilla and Stora scenen. Stora scenen has a capacity of a total of 766 people, including space for 8 wheelchairs with 8 companions. Lilla scenen has an audience capacity of 140 seats.
