We are looking for one of our most important customers for a:
Senior Strategic Buyer Electronics (m/f/d)
Your Task
- Development and implementation of strategic procurement activities for electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), populated printed circuit boards (PCBAs), ICs, passive components, and related purchased parts.
- Monitoring and analysis of the global electronics market, including manufacturers, distributors, supply chain developments, lead times, availability, allocation situations, and market price trends.
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing strong relationships with distributors and manufacturers of electronic components, especially in Asia and Europe.
- Identification of cost-saving potential, alternative suppliers, and technically suitable component alternatives in close cooperation with the Development, Production, and Quality Assurance departments.
- Evaluation of manufacturer part numbers, datasheets, technical specifications, lifecycle status, and second-source options.
- Support of bottleneck management, handling allocation situations, and supply chain risk mitigation through proactive market monitoring.
- Evaluation of the impact of raw material prices, regional labor costs, manufacturing capacities, and geopolitical factors on purchase prices and component availability.
- Close cooperation with PCBA manufacturing, Development, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Finance to ensure reliable supply and optimized Total Cost of Ownership.
- Management of inventory-relevant purchasing decisions considering financial metrics such as Days in Hand, capital commitment, inventory value, Working Capital, inventory turnover, and ROCE.
- Negotiation of commercial terms, prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supplier agreements.
- Use of ERP systems (especially SAP) to manage purchasing data, supplier information, material availability, orders, inventory levels, and reporting requirements.
Your Profile
- University degree or comparable qualification in the fields of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the automotive industry, electronics manufacturing, EMS service providers, industrial electronics, or comparable mass production environments is an advantage.
- Experience in working with Asian supplier markets, distributors, and manufacturers.
- Experience with purchasing analysis, market intelligence tools, or reporting dashboards is an advantage.
- Fluent English skills; additional language skills are an advantage.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in purchasing, sourcing, or commodity management of electronic components.
- Sound understanding of the global electronics market, including manufacturers, supply chains, authorized and independent distributors, as well as market price mechanisms.
- A strong personal network to distributors and manufacturers of electronic components in Asia is highly desirable.
- Sound technical knowledge of electronic components, including the ability to read and interpret datasheets, understand MPN structures, and identify technically suitable alternatives.
- Good technical understanding of the manufacturing processes for electronic components to be procured, such as PCBs, ICs, and passive components.
- Sound understanding of the PCBA manufacturing process and the impact of component selection on manufacturability, quality, cost, and supply security.
- Solid commercial and financial understanding, including purchasing-relevant KPIs such as Days in Hand, capital commitment, inventory turnover, Working Capital, and ROCE.
- Comprehensive experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) in the areas of purchasing, materials management, supplier management, and inventory-related processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, complex formulas, processing large amounts of data, reporting, and creating purchasing and KPI analyses.
- Strong skills in negotiation, analysis, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, global supply chain environment and make fact-based sourcing decisions.
