Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, is an agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youths with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with addiction. SiS youth home Tysslinge outside Södertälje receives non-compulsory boys with psychosocial problems as well as criminality and addiction.
About the workplace
SiS youth home Tysslinge is an institution in the highest security class that receives youths with high risks of threats, violence, and deviation. The institution has a total of seven departments, which receive youths placed according to Lagen om vård av unga (LVU), youths sentenced according to Lagen om sluten ungdomsvård (LSU), as well as a department consisting of places for youths who are cared for in isolation for a period (VIE). The majority of our youths are often in a legal process or already sentenced for serious crime and have connections to criminal networks. The school is an important and central part of the youths' care and treatment and is an important protective factor. The school is covered by the skollagen and conducts individually adapted schooling within introduction programs.
Job description
As one of our teachers will be on parental leave, we are seeking a teacher for a long-term substitute until 2028-08-31, with subject qualification in English as well as at least one additional upper secondary subject.
SiS is responsible for the education of all enrolled youths regardless of problems or placement type. All youths staying at the youth home shall receive the education they need and are entitled to. At Tysslingeskolan, we offer teaching at compulsory school and upper secondary levels within the framework of language introduction and individual alternatives. We work with a special pedagogical approach and undergo continuous professional development. Tysslingeskolan currently consists of thirteen teachers, one special teacher, a study and vocational counselor with administrative responsibility, and a principal. The school is in constant development and is highly prioritized within SiS.
As a teacher with us, you teach in small groups with adaptations based on each student's needs. We have our LVU students for a shorter time and our LSU students for a longer time. A positive approach and a belief in each individual's potential for development is important. As a teacher with us, you shall motivate every student to become qualified in their subjects or courses. You collaborate with us at the school and with other professional groups at Tysslinge regarding the student. You document your teaching so that you facilitate the student's future schooling. You participate in collegial learning, supervision, and the development of our school. When necessary, you substitute for your colleagues.
At Tysslingeskolan, we apply semestertjänst and the main work takes place on-site.

Qualifications
You who are applying shall
Be a licensed teacher in your subjects at upper secondary level, in English as well as at least one additional subject at upper secondary level.
It is meritorious
If you have several years of experience as a licensed teacher in your subjects If you have several subjects in your qualification If you have experience of working within introduction programs If you have experience of working with youths in vulnerable situations If you have experience of working with students in need of special support/special teaching groups
