POSITION:
Pre-Project Engineer (M/F)
Your mission Within a highly technical industrial environment, you will intervene upstream of projects in order to define the most suitable technical solutions and develop the cost estimates necessary for the preparation of commercial offers. In this capacity, your main missions are as follows:
- Analyze requests transmitted by the sales department: specifications, customer requirements, volumes, deadlines, and technical constraints.
- Define adapted technical concepts (machines, processes, and technical solutions).
- Identify technical points requiring clarification or presenting risks.
- Perform project cost estimates by integrating material costs, design, manufacturing, labor, tooling, subcontracting, packaging, and logistics.
- Determine industrial cost prices and expected margins.
- Evaluate project feasibility taking into account production capacities and organizational constraints.
- Collaborate with various internal departments (design office, automation, purchasing, methods, production, supply chain...) in order to collect the necessary information.
- Prepare technical files and contribute to the development of commercial offers.
- Present cost estimation hypotheses and justify technical choices to the sales teams.
- Adjust estimates based on technical developments or negotiations.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of costing methods by analyzing discrepancies between estimates and actual production costs.
- Update cost databases (raw materials, hourly rates, subcontracting, etc.).
- Contribute to the structuring and improvement of tools and databases dedicated to pre-projects.
- Propose technical and organizational optimizations to improve the competitiveness of offers.
You will evolve in an innovative industrial environment, where projects are varied, technically demanding, and international in scope. PROFILE:
With a Master's degree (Bac+5) in engineering or equivalent, you have significant experience in an industrial environment, ideally in the design of special machines, industrial equipment, or complex technical projects. You notably possess:
- A solid mastery of industrial costing techniques and cost analysis.
- Good knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and hydraulics.
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans.
- Good mastery of office tools, ERP, and CAD software.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical standards as well as international quality frameworks.
- A good level of English, allowing you to communicate with international interlocutors.
Rigorous, methodical, and endowed with an excellent analytical spirit, you know how to manage several projects in parallel while respecting deadlines. Your technical curiosity, autonomy, and ability to work in a team will be essential assets for success in this role.
