Your tasks

About the Role As our Business Development Manager for the AI & Data vertical, based in Singapore, you will own the commercial growth of our fastest-movingclient segment — artificial intelligence and data companies. You will sell our payment infrastructure (collections, mass payouts, merchant acquiring, Virtual Commercial Cards (VCC) and cross-border settlement) to AI startups, LLM and foundation-model companies, data annotation and labelling platforms, data marketplaces, GPU cloud and compute providers, and AI-enabled SaaS businesses.

The AI & Data sector has distinctive payment needs: usage-based and API-monetization billing, mass payouts to globally distributed contributor networks (data annotators, labelers, RLHF workers), high-volume card spend on cloud and GPU infrastructure, and multi-currency collections from enterprise customers worldwide. You will translate these needs into payment solutions —working directly with the CEO and partnering with Product, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Operations to turn market opportunity into revenue.

Vertical Growth – AI & Data Clients

  • Hunt & Close: Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across AI and data companies — AI startups, LLM/foundation-model companies, data annotation and labelling platforms, data marketplaces, GPU/compute providers and AI SaaS businesses.
  • Vertical Strategy: Develop and execute the AI & Data vertical go-to-market plan for Singapore and Southeast Asia —target account mapping, segment prioritization, and revenue, transaction volume and customer acquisition targets.

Payments Solution Selling

  • Full Cycle: Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through solution design, commercial negotiation, contracting, onboarding and go-live.
  • Solution Development: Work closely with Product and Technology to translate client requirements into commercially viable payment solutions — API integrations, mass payout rails, card issuing and settlement configurations.
  • Presentation: Present the company's payment infrastructure, APIs, products and platform capabilities to technical founders, CFOs and finance operations teams.

Commercial & Card Economics

  • VCC for Compute Spend: Drive adoption of VCC and card-based solutions for cloud, GPU and infrastructure spend —articulating how commercial card credit lines improve cash flow, Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and working capital for capital-intensive AI businesses.
  • Payouts Economics: Structure mass payout solutions for contributor and contractor networks with competitive FX, speed and cost positioning.
  • Negotiation: Lead commercial discussions and negotiations covering pricing, transaction fees, FX spreads, settlement arrangements and service requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs, Heads of Finance/Ops and procurement at AI and data companies.
  • Buying Committees: Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes — influencing economic buyers (CEO/CFO), technical buyers (engineering/finance systems) and end users (AP, finance ops, contributor operations).
  • Expand: Identify cross-sell and expansion opportunities across additional products, markets, payment methods and currencies as AI clients scale internationally.

Pipeline& Cross-Vertical Support

  • CRM Discipline: Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and opportunity records in the CRM; prepare forecasts and provide regular updates on key opportunities and conversion timelines.
  • Market Intel: Track AI & Data industry trends, funding activity, competitor moves and pricing benchmarks; feed insights into product and pricing strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work with Product, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance and Operations throughout the sales and implementation lifecycle; ensure proposed solutions are compliant, viable and successfully transitioned to account management.

Requirements

  • Use-Case Fluency: Understand AI and data business models and their payment flows — usage-based billing, API monetization, contributor payouts, compute spend and data licensing settlements— and match them to acquiring, payouts, VCC and cross-border solutions.
  • Ecosystem Presence: Build presence in the AI & Data ecosystem — VC/accelerator demo days, AI conferences, developer and data communities — to generate inbound interest, referrals and early access to high-growth accounts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fintech / Payments Foundation: 3–5 years of business development or B2B sales experience in fintech, payment services, PSPs, merchant acquiring or card payments.
  • AI & Data Specialization: Demonstrable track record selling into AI and/or data companies — AI startups, data annotation/labelling, data marketplaces, GPU/compute providers or AI SaaS —with closed deals and attributable revenue you can walk us through.
  • Payments Fluency: Hands-on knowledge ofB2B/B2C payments, acquiring, VCC/card solutions, mass payouts and cross-border settlement.
  • Commercial Edge: Comfortable pricing deals, negotiating contracts and managing 6–12-month sales cycles.
  • Card Economics: Understand interchange, rebates and how VCC credit lines improve DPO, cash flow and working capital.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with technical teams and senior decisionmakers on payment solutions, pricing and commercial value.
  • Ownership: A self-starter who creates leads, thrives in ambiguity and owns the outcome.
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or a related field.

What Will Make You Stand Out You speak fluent "AI company". You understand how adata-labelling platform pays 50,000 contributors across 40 countries, why aGPU-hungry startup cares about DPO, and what an LLM API business needs from itscollections stack. You combine that vertical fluency with solid paymentseconomics. You do not wait for leads — you create them through ecosystem presence and disciplined prospecting. You can hold a technical conversation with a payments engineer and a commercial conversation with a founder-CFO in the same hour.
