Job Summary

This is an eight-month fixed-term contract role.

  • Accelerate the Foundation’s transition from project-based interventions to ecosystem-led solutions that create sustainable pathways to employment, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion for young people.
  • Build the capability of Foundation staff and market teams and embed systems thinking and ecosystem principles into programme design, capital allocation and partner engagement.
  • Strengthen market diagnostics, the pipeline of ecosystem-focused initiatives, strategic partnerships and innovative financing approaches across priority markets.

Ecosystem Strategy and Capability Building

  • Support the Foundation’s transition to an ecosystem-based programming approach across priority markets.
  • Coach and mentor Foundation staff and market teams, lead workshops, and provide practical technical support.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain guidance, toolkits, frameworks and resources that enable consistent application of ecosystem approaches.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge exchange across markets and with external experts.

Partnerships, Innovative Finance and Learning

  • Lead or support ecosystem and market diagnostics to identify barriers, opportunities, stakeholders and leverage points in youth employment and entrepreneurship systems.
  • Support the assessment of ecosystem maturity and readiness, translation of insights into clear recommendations, and development a robust pipeline of ecosystem-focused initiatives.
  • Support the team in developing programme concepts, proposals and partnership structures, including opportunities to scale successful models and strengthen coordination.
  • Advise on blended finance, catalytic capital, outcomes-based financing and other mechanisms that improve sustainability and mobilise additional resources.
  • Capture lessons and good practice, develop learning products, strengthen evidence generation and adaptive management.

Certifications / Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in international development, economics, public policy, business, systems change or a related discipline.

Languages

  • Fluency in verbal and written in Business communication is required.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Significant international experience across multiple countries and regions in systems change, market systems development, ecosystem building, collective impact or related approaches.
  • Experience conducting ecosystem assessments, diagnostics and strategic analyses, and designing practical implementation tools and methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, partnership development, facilitation, analytical, presentation and communication experience, including influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Desirable experience in corporate foundations, philanthropy, development finance or impact investing; innovative finance; youth employment, entrepreneurship, skills or financial inclusion; and organisational capability building.
