Job Summary

Direct Contract Role - 12 months

The Lead Business Analyst sits within Treasury Finance Transformation and provides business analysis leadership for the Hedge Accounting programme, while being deployable across IRRBB, Transparent Duration Allocation (TDA), Regulatory Methodology Alignment (RMA), Balance Sheet Management and similar Treasury initiatives. The role bridges Treasury, Finance, Risk, Product Control, Operations, Data and Technology to translate complex accounting, risk and regulatory requirements into controlled, implementable business and technology solutions.

The candidate will be required to:

  • Lead end-to-end business analysis from concept and methodology through requirements, design, testing, implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Define target-state processes, operating models, controls, data flows, accounting events, interfaces and reporting outcomes.
  • Produce high-quality BRDs, FRDs/FSDs, epics, user stories, use cases, process maps, data mappings and requirements traceability matrices.
  • Lead requirements and process design for Hedge Accounting, including hedge designation, effectiveness testing, hedge adjustments, sub-ledger events, GL postings, disclosures and end-of-day controls.
  • Apply IRRBB and Balance Sheet Management knowledge across EVE, NII, PV01, behavioural modelling, structural balances and Treasury risk reporting.
  • Support TDA methodology and implementation, including allocation logic, accruals, Product Control impacts, migration, testing and country rollout.
  • Coordinate dependencies across Treasury, Finance, Risk, Product Control, Operations, Data and Technology teams.
  • Lead functional testing, UAT, business validation, defect triage, cutover readiness and implementation support.
  • Provide clear RAID, milestone, dependency and decision updates to programme governance forums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the business solution owner for the agreed target state and lead analysis supporting concept, methodology and functional design.
  • Elicit, challenge, prioritise, document and obtain approval for complete and testable business requirements.
  • Ensure solutions align with internal policies, control standards, accounting requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Validate that proposed architecture, data design and interfaces are fit for business purpose and aligned to the target state.
  • Coordinate system interfaces, data dependencies, release impacts and change activities across workstreams and delivery locations.
  • Translate complex Hedge Accounting, IRRBB and TDA methodologies into clear process, data, control and technology requirements.
  • Partner with policy owners, methodology teams, Product Control and metric producers to resolve ambiguity and agree business outcomes.
  • Define test strategy and acceptance criteria; review UAT coverage, expected results and traceability to requirements.
  • Lead defect triage and work with Technology teams through resolution, retest and closure.
  • Assess change impacts, support operating-model readiness, training, implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Maintain transparent governance over decisions, assumptions, risks, issues, dependencies and delivery status.

  • Shape scalable, integrated Treasury Finance solutions that reduce fragmentation, manual processing and operational risk.
  • Ensure delivery choices support the strategic direction for Hedge Accounting, IRRBB, TDA, RMA and related initiatives.

Business

  • Partner with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Product Control, Operations, Data and Technology to define business outcomes and secure stakeholder acceptance.
  • Balance regulatory, control, user, delivery and system-performance considerations when recommending priorities and solutions.
  • Communicate complex topics clearly to working groups, project leadership and senior governance forums.

Processes

  • Define and improve front-to-back processes covering methodology, data sourcing, calculation, accounting, reporting, controls and reconciliation.
  • Ensure process designs include clear ownership, service expectations, controls, exception handling and evidence requirements.

People & Talent

  • Provide functional leadership and coaching to Business Analysts and subject-matter contributors, without formal line-management responsibility.
  • Promote high standards for requirements quality, traceability, testing discipline, collaboration and knowledge transfer.

Risk Management

  • Identify and manage business, delivery, data, model, accounting, operational and regulatory risks within assigned workstreams.
  • Ensure control requirements, reconciliations, approvals, audit evidence and remediation actions are embedded in the solution.

Governance

  • Support working groups and programme governance through accurate status, RAID, dependency, decision and milestone reporting.
  • Maintain complete and auditable documentation, approvals and requirements traceability.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Significant experience in business analysis, transformation or solution delivery within Treasury, Finance, Risk or banking regulation; strong candidates will typically bring 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in Treasury, Finance, Risk or regulatory change, with hands-on delivery in Hedge Accounting, IRRBB, Balance Sheet Management or related platforms.
  • Proven delivery experience using agile and waterfall methods, with the ability to work across concurrent strategic initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 / IAS 39 Hedge Accounting, including Fair Value, Cash Flow and Net Investment Hedges, designation, effectiveness testing, accounting and disclosures.
  • 10+ years of functional experience in Liquidity risk, regulatory reporting solution design roles
  • Preferred experience with Moody’s Fermat/Risk Authority/ Risk Confidence risk calculation, data model and reporting engines
  • Preferred experience as Data Engineer and Solution Design
  • Knowledge of Basel Liquidity regulations and good understanding of financial risk
  • Expertise in SQL
  • Experience with both waterfall & agile methodologies
  • Experience in analysing techniques and tools
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Working knowledge of IRRBB, Balance Sheet Management, structural balances, EVE/NII/PV01, Treasury liquidity and Product Control processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in requirements engineering, process design, data mapping, SQL/data analysis, testing, UAT, defect management and implementation; experience with agile and waterfall delivery.
  • Hands on with AI tools to generate efficiency tools and POCs as prototypes for solution development
