Senior Electrical Engineer / Lead Electrical Engineer

Stål Engineering is now seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer or Lead Electrical Engineer for a long-term consultancy assignment with an international industrial customer in Västerås. You will play a central role in projects where quality, technology, and reliable energy solutions are the focus.

About the assignment You will work with the design and development of control and protection systems, electrical plant systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. The role includes, among other things, the design and integration of third-party systems, the production of drawings and product configurations, as well as technical responsibility in delivery projects, improvement projects, and tender work. As a lead engineer, you plan and coordinate the technical work. You ensure that solutions meet the customer's requirements, applicable quality standards, and the organization's working methods. The assignment also includes advanced technical analyses, problem-solving, and the development of new or improved solutions.

We are looking for someone who has

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical power engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• At least seven years of experience in similar roles within electrical design or electrical power engineering.
• Experience in the construction and design of control and protection systems.
• Knowledge of electrical plant systems and auxiliary systems.
• Experience in leading and coordinating technical work in projects.
• Experience with technical documentation, drawings, and product configurations.
• The ability to translate technical requirements into well-developed and verified design solutions.
• Very good knowledge of English, both oral and written.

You must also meet one of the following:

• At least six years of relevant experience in combination with a technical university degree.
• Other relevant technical education in combination with more than 15 years of experience.

It is meritorious if you have experience in:

• FACTS plants.
• Switchgear or substation projects.
• Large infrastructure projects.
• Electrical CAD systems.
• Zuken E3 or Engineering Base.
• The calculation tool ETAP.
• Configuration of protection relays.
• Swedish in speech and writing.
