Staff Nurse (SNB Registered) – Oncology Support | Venepuncture & Cannulation
Principal
Your tasks
- Support doctors and the clinic team in ensuring smooth daily oncology clinic operations.
- Prepare patients for consultations, including venepuncture, blood collection and laboratory investigations.
- Administer chemotherapy and other prescribed treatments according to clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Perform IV cannulation and Port-a-Cath access/care where required.
- Monitor patients during treatment and provide nursing care, education and emotional support.
- Coordinate appointments, investigations, referrals and follow-up care.
- Review and track laboratory/investigation results for timely patient follow-up.
- Dispense medications and provide appropriate patient education as instructed by doctors.
- Monitor medication and medical supply inventory and assist with stock management.
- Maintain accurate nursing records and comply with infection control and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial counselling to patients and caregivers regarding treatment costs, Medisave and insurance matters.
- Participate in after-hours patient support on a roster basis when required.
- Support general clinic administration and other duties assigned by the Doctor or Nurse Manager.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration, BCLS and AED certification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience is an advantage.
- Experience in venepuncture and cannulation is strongly preferred.
- Competent in IV cannulation and Port-a-Cath access/care.
- Comfortable working with oncology patients and administering treatments according to clinical protocols.
- Strong patient-care, communication and interpersonal skills.
