Mechanical Design Engineer – Industrial Automation / Machine Design

5 days work week Location: East Industry: OEM - Industrial equipment manufacturing Are you passionate about  machine design and industrial automation ? Join a team involved in designing and developing  customized automation equipment and machinery  used in industrial production environments. We are looking for a hands-on  Mechanical Design Engineer  who enjoys turning engineering concepts into working machines — from initial design and 3D modelling through fabrication, assembly, testing and commissioning. Job Scope: Design and develop mechanical systems for  industrial automation equipment and customized machinery .

Translate customer and project requirements into practical mechanical design solutions.

Create 3D models, detailed mechanical drawings, assembly drawings and fabrication drawings.

Develop machine layouts and mechanical structures for automation systems.

Design and integrate mechanical components such as frames, brackets, conveyors, actuators, fixtures and moving mechanisms.

Work with  pneumatic components, cylinders, linear motion systems and mechanical drive mechanisms .

Select suitable mechanical components and materials based on application requirements.

Work closely with electrical, controls, production and assembly teams to ensure designs can be successfully built and operated.

Support fabrication, machine assembly and testing by providing technical clarification and resolving design issues.

Troubleshoot mechanical problems during machine build, testing and commissioning.

Review and improve existing machine designs for better reliability, functionality and manufacturability.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout project execution.

Support installation and commissioning activities at customer sites when required.

Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.

Requirement: Diploma or Degree in  Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline .

At least  3 years of relevant mechanical design experience .

Experience designing  industrial machinery, automation equipment, special-purpose machines, production equipment or material-handling systems .

Strong proficiency in  SolidWorks  and/or AutoCAD.

Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerances and component selection.

Experience preparing  fabrication, assembly and detailed engineering drawings .

Familiarity with  pneumatic systems and linear motion mechanisms .

Experience working with conveyors, actuators, sensors, fixtures or other automation-related mechanical components will be advantageous.

Able to understand how a design will be  fabricated, assembled and maintained , not just how it looks on CAD.
