Solution Architect (Java & Cloud) [M/F]

We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect/Java & Cloud Architect who will co-create the development direction of key IT systems in the property insurance area. The person in this position will combine architectural responsibility with practical knowledge of Java/Spring technologies. An important element of the role will be the transformation of the existing monolithic solution towards a scalable, resilient, and modern microservices architecture, operating in a private cloud environment. This position is for someone who can not only design a solution but also translate architectural decisions into concrete actions for development teams.

Daily tasks

• Co-creating and programming changes in the Everest system supporting the property insurance area.
• Designing and developing IT system architecture.
• Creating and implementing migration strategies from monolithic to microservices architecture.
• Designing solutions based on private cloud and cloud-native technologies.
• Co-creating the vision and directions for technological architecture development.
• Preparing and co-creating technological roadmaps.
• Identifying, prioritizing, and managing technical debt.
• Analyzing technological risks and assessing the feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Supporting development teams in making architectural and technological decisions.
• Conducting technical consultations, architectural workshops, and code review.
• Mentoring team members in the areas of architecture, system design, and best practices.
• Supporting the design and documentation of system architecture.
• Developing and implementing technological and architectural standards.
• Ensuring the architectural consistency of solutions developed by different teams.
• Collaborating on the implementation of new technologies.
• Supporting the development of DevOps practices and improving the software development process.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, developing, or supervising IT system architecture. Very good, practical knowledge of Java and Spring/Spring Boot. Experience in designing and developing distributed and microservices systems. Very good knowledge of architectural patterns and integration patterns. Practical experience with cloud and infrastructure automation. Knowledge of CI/CD issues and DevOps practices. Experience in designing scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems. Practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD). Experience with Event-Driven Architecture. Practical knowledge of API Governance. Experience in designing and implementing end-to-end observability. Ability to conduct code review, mentoring, and architectural workshops. Experience in co-creating technological roadmaps and risk assessment. Ability to communicate architectural decisions to both technical teams and business stakeholders. English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
