Electrical Engineer
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design, engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, equipment, and installations in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, layouts, cable schedules, load schedules, and technical specifications.
- Perform electrical calculations including load calculations, voltage drop, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, and equipment selection.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, datasheets, and other engineering documents.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and site issues.
- Supervise and monitor electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Inspect electrical materials, equipment, and installation works.
- Conduct and/or coordinate testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and functional verification of electrical systems.
- Identify technical problems and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Prepare method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), material submittals, technical reports, and other project documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant authorities as required.
- Monitor project progress and support the project team in meeting schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable local regulations, codes, and international standards.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities where required.
- Participate in risk assessments, toolbox meetings, and site safety activities.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant professional engineering certification/licensing is an advantage.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, projects, facilities, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Experience with electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Good knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with electrical design/calculation software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, distribution systems, switchboards, transformers, protection systems, generators, and related equipment.
