Satellite Operator

Do you want to work with technology that makes it possible to communicate with satellites? At SSC Space, we operate a global network of ground stations. For our Network Management Centre in Kiruna, we are now looking for a satellite operator who wants to help ensure that satellite contacts are carried out as planned.

In this role, you will monitor satellite passes, plan upcoming activities, and act when something is not working as it should. You will be in contact with both colleagues and customers around the world and work in a team that staffs the operation in three shifts.

YOUR ROLE

• Monitor satellite passes and note deviations or technical problems.
• Plan and coordinate activities related to satellite contacts.
• Communicate with customers and colleagues regarding ongoing activities and any disruptions.
• Report errors and follow up on them according to current routines.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have a good technical understanding and are curious to learn new systems.
• You are analytical and find it easy to absorb new information.
• You are attentive, can work independently, and act quickly when something does not look right.
• You express yourself very well in English, both orally and in writing, as a large part of the communication with customers and colleagues takes place in English.
• You can work in three shifts.

Experience working in a control room or within the space industry is meritorious.
