Tailor / Seamstress ? Men's Clothing Alterations
Spier & Mackay is seeking an experienced *Tailor / Seamstress* to join our retail team. This is a full-time, in-store position available at our *Heartland Town Centre location in Mississauga* and *Yorkville location in Toronto*.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with *men?s tailoring and alterations*, particularly suits, trousers, jackets and shirts, and takes pride in delivering clean, precise work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of alterations on men?s clothing, including *hemming, sleeve shortening/lengthening, waist adjustments, tapering, jacket alterations and other tailoring work*
- Conduct and assist with *customer fittings* to determine required alterations
- Accurately pin and mark garments for alterations
- Ensure alterations are completed to a *high standard of fit and workmanship*
- Complete alterations within established customer deadlines
- Work closely with retail staff to address fit concerns and determine appropriate alteration solutions
- Identify and resolve alteration or garment construction issues when required
- Maintain an organized and professional alteration workspace
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience as a *Tailor, Seamstress or Alterations Specialist*
- Strong experience working with *men?s suits, jackets and trousers*
- Excellent sewing and garment construction knowledge
- Ability to perform fittings and accurately assess garment fit
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to manage multiple alterations and meet deadlines
- Experience in a menswear, tailoring or retail environment is an asset

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
