School Caretaker

Lichfield, Staffordshire Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour Hours: 6:30am-3:00pm Contract: Temporary to Permanent Start Date: ASAP We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker to join a school in Lichfield, Staffordshire , on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school or education-sector experience who has a strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and site management . Key Responsibilities Opening and securing the school site Carrying out general caretaking, maintenance and minor repairs Ensuring the school premises are safe, clean and well maintained Completing routine site checks and reporting any issues Supporting with health & safety and compliance requirements Monitoring contractors and ensuring work is carried out safely Maintaining records, logs and relevant compliance documentation Responding to maintenance issues and emergencies as required Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site The Ideal Candidate Previous experience working as a Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant or similar School/education experience is highly desirable Good knowledge of health & safety and compliance procedures Practical and confident with general maintenance and repairs Organised, reliable and able to work independently Strong communication skills Able to build positive relationships with staff, pupils and contractors A proactive approach with good attention to detail APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPENCER CLARKE GROUP All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy.
