Learning Support Assistant- SEN

We are currently looking for a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school based in Ashington, Northumberland. You may be supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, behavioural needs or complex learning needs. SEN experience is essential for this role.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Work alongside teachers to adapt activities and learning to meet individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor and celebrate pupil progress and achievements.
• Work as part of a supportive and collaborative school team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
