Plant Engineer

Location: Jurong Island, Singapore

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Plant Engineer to support and coordinate production, plant operations, vessel loading, jetty operations and continuous improvement activities.

The role will be closely involved in day-to-day plant operations, production planning, inventory management, process performance and bulk material handling operations. The successful candidate will work across Production, Operations, Maintenance and HSE teams to ensure activities are carried out safely, reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production and plant operations to achieve safety, quality, production and operational targets.
• Develop and support production plans and inventory forecasts based on demand, storage capacity, plant capability, maintenance activities and vessel shipment requirements.
• Monitor raw material and finished-product inventory and identify potential shortages, excess inventory or operational constraints in advance.
• Support and coordinate vessel loading and jetty operations , including loading preparation, operational readiness and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Support compliance with ISPS requirements and port/jetty operating requirements applicable to terminal operations.
• Monitor and coordinate operation of bulk material handling equipment , including conveyor systems, reclaimers, shiploaders and associated machinery.
• Ensure vessel-loading and bulk-handling activities are properly planned and coordinated with Production, Maintenance, HSE and other stakeholders.
• Monitor plant and operational performance, including throughput, downtime, reliability, equipment availability, efficiency and process performance.
• Troubleshoot production, process and operational issues and coordinate corrective actions with Maintenance, HSE and other departments.
• Support continuous improvement, process optimisation, reliability improvement and plant modification projects.
• Lead or support Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, PSSR, commissioning, start-up and plant modification activities .
• Develop, review and maintain SOPs, operating procedures, work instructions, checklists and training materials.
• Support training, knowledge sharing and competency development for operations personnel.
• Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and review production, inventory, vessel-loading, operational KPI and management reports.
• Coordinate with customers, vessel representatives, surveyors, contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders on operational and technical matters.
• Support safe operation and upkeep of the plant, warehouse, jetty and associated bulk-handling facilities.
• Identify operational risks, anticipate potential issues and follow through on actions to completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline .
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in chemical, petrochemical, process plant, terminal, bulk-material handling or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in production, plant operations and operational troubleshooting.
• Experience or exposure to vessel loading, jetty/terminal operations and bulk material handling systems will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with conveyor systems, reclaimers, shiploaders or similar bulk-handling equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge or exposure to ISPS Code requirements, port operations or marine terminal operations will be an advantage.
• Familiar with MOC, HAZOP, PSSR, SOP development and commissioning/start-up activities .
• Good understanding of production planning, inventory management and operational performance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, HSE, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands-on and able to take ownership of assignments and drive actions to completion.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with production and operational data.
