*About Us:*

Sparks of Speech is seeking an experienced Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our dynamic team. We offer in-home sessions to clients in various locations within Durham Region, focusing on providing speech therapy to a paediatric population. Our small yet passionate team comprises a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and two CDAs.

*Job Requirements:*

• Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program

• Member of CDAAC (Preferred)

• Professional liability insurance

• Must have Saturday availability

• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

• Excellent clinical skills using best practice guidelines and evidence-based practices

• Strong interpersonal and time-management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members, accept feedback, and follow direction

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Screening

• Evening and weekend availability is essential

*Key Responsibilities:*

• Provide direct speech therapy to a paediatric population under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist

• Work with clients from diverse backgrounds and specialized populations

• Collaborate and consult with SLP and other practitioners

• Create and develop therapy materials as required

• Provide families with resources, information, and home programs

• Assist with parent and client workshops

• Participate in continuing education classes and workshops to stay current in the field
