Major duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Logistics Management Specialist to support SSC/MD8/8STS (NH-0346-03, GS 12/13 equivalent). Description: Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall. Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties. Serves as the focal point for planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support for a space system or subsystem. Responsible for planning, managing, implementing, executing and coordinating the total cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned systems or subsystems, integrating separate functions of supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities required to sustain system fielding. Manages, monitors, evaluates, and coordinates ILS plan implementation. Manages and monitors acquisition projects throughout their execution. Monitors functional and supporting organization compliance with milestones and performance criteria. Coordinates and integrates taskings needed for execution from different functional organizations. Work schedule as determined per mission: Traditional or AWS or Flexible. Ideal Candidate: Considered a functional/technical expert by others in the organization; is regularly sought out by others for advice and assistance. Knowledge of a principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate. e, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases. Gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of a principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate. 2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment process and integrated life cycle management. 3. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan. 4.
