【Job Responsibility】
You will be responsible for product planning and product management for PlayStation hardware products.
Specifically, you will be in charge of the following duties:
Hardware Planning and Idea Generation
Planning hardware to realize new ways to play
Planning in the hardware domain, including consoles, controllers, and peripherals
Requirements Definition and Specification Formulation
Defining requirements based on user value, business viability, and technical feasibility
Formulating specification policies considering cost and mass-producibility
Cross-functional Promotion
Collaboration with related departments
Organizing key issues for commercialization, supporting decision-making, and leading consensus building
Commercialization and Lifecycle Management
Preparing for commercialization for launch, collaborating with related departments
Improvements based on post-launch feedback and market data, and reflecting them in successor planning
【About Team and Organization】
Our department is responsible for product planning and product management regarding PlayStation hardware, software, and services. We aim to provide better experiences to game players around the world, while also contributing to creating functions and foundations that make it easier for game creators to develop.
In this position, you will work closely with various specialized internal organizations regarding PlayStation hardware products to define what to achieve as a product and why it should be prioritized, while driving progress by involving stakeholders. You will be involved consistently from product strategy, requirements definition, and commercialization to post-launch improvements, taking responsibility for maximizing the overall value of the product.
This is a highly global work environment where you will collaborate daily with overseas locations, including the US and UK.
After joining, we expect you to gain experience while handling product planning and product management in your assigned domain, leading small teams, and in the future, taking on a role that influences the entire platform more broadly.

【Must Requirements】
▼Experience / Skills
Experience in product planning or product management for consumer electronics hardware products (leading product concept formulation, requirements definition, specification adjustment, through to launch)
People management experience, or experience leading cross-functional product development
Logical thinking skills and high communication skills
▼Language Skills
Japanese: Native level (capable of advanced document creation and internal/external coordination)
English: Business level (capable of reading documents, emailing overseas members, and presenting in meetings) *Communication with overseas locations will occur as part of the job

Experience in product planning for game consoles or game-related peripherals
