Head of Legal Solvd Group (m/f/d)

As Head of Legal, you will be the cornerstone of our legal framework, ensuring alignment with both our internal standards and the broader Group legal principles.
This is a senior leadership role with significant scope and influence – ideal for a legal professional who thrives in complex, international environments and is energized by organizational transformation.
Location: Europe – Hybrid, with a local office base where available.
Your Responsibilities
Legal Advisory
Advise on corporate and other legal matters (e.g., antitrust, IT, contracts, record retention), in collaboration with the Group Legal function
Coordinate the legal function within the Solvd Group
Assess the impact of legal and regulatory change and support the implementation of required measures
Corporate Governance & System of Governance
Act as Governance Caretaker of Solvd
Manage Solvd GmbH Statutes, Board of Management Rules of Procedures and processes, including the Committee Framework
Set and maintain corporate governance and legal standards, including the Corporate Rules Book and Policy Framework for Solvd
Implement and maintain a system of governance at Solvd, including annual System of Governance review
Act as Antitrust Program Coordinator of Solvd
Transformation & Legal Project Support
Support transformation projects from a legal perspective
Support the Solvd Transformation team in M&A related activities, in collaboration with Group M&A and Legal function
Monitor legal changes within designated legal areas, e.g., requirements for sound organization
Your Experience & Qualification
University degree in Law, or another university degree with a strong focus on compliance, law, or regulatory topics
Minimum 10 years of relevant professional and managerial experience
Proven experience managing legal programs within a global organization
Very good knowledge of relevant legal regulations and associated risks, especially in the insurance business
Sound understanding of the insurance and financial markets
Good knowledge of system of governance requirements
Several years of experience in legal within the financial services sector
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
