Technical project lead

You will join a family-owned technical SME with around 30 employees. The company designs and builds industrial installations for storage, transport, dosing, and dust extraction. Everything is managed in-house: from design and automation to installation and maintenance.

Projects are located, among others, in the food industry, agriculture, recycling, and chemistry, both in Belgium and Northern France.

As Project Lead, you will take charge of several projects simultaneously. You ensure that what was sold is also executed correctly from a technical and practical standpoint. In doing so, you work closely with engineering, production, assembly, and the customer.

What will you do?

• You take over new projects from sales and translate the sold concept into concrete execution.
• You follow up on multiple projects simultaneously from preparation to realization.
• You manage mechanical and electrical design engineers and provide them with the necessary technical input.
• You make clear agreements regarding planning and deadlines.
• You monitor the timing between engineering, production, assembly, and the customer.
• You schedule technicians for execution on-site.
• You follow up on activities at various sites.
• You check whether the execution complies with the technical agreements and planning.
• You maintain an overview of the progress and intervene when a project risks deviating.
• You consult directly with customers regarding the planning and progress of their project.
• You work closely with sales, fellow project leaders, and the workshop manager.

So, you are not just busy with planning and administration here. You must technically understand what is being built, dare to make decisions, and ensure that different parties can move forward at the right time.

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field, for example, mechanics or electromechanics.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience within machine building.
• You have good knowledge of machine building and metal constructions.
• You possess strong technical and spatial insight.
• You can organize several projects at once without losing the overview.
• You are hands-on and do not wait around when something needs to be solved on a site or within a project.
• You take responsibility and follow a project through until it is completed.
• You can work independently, but switch easily with colleagues from different departments.
• You communicate clearly with customers, engineers, production, and technicians.
• You are flexible when a schedule or site situation requires it.
• You have good operational knowledge of French and English.
