Coordinator safety, health and environment

Our client has grown into one of the most important players in the world in the field of frozen potato products for private labels.

As Coordinator safety, health and environment, you will report to the HSE Manager at the site in Waasten and play a key role in guaranteeing safety, health and environmental protection.

Your responsibilities:

• Managing emergencies related to safety (fires, explosions, accidents) and the environment (pollution, noise nuisance, odor, etc.).
• Coordinating environmental issues and supporting procedures for the extension of permits in collaboration with external advisors.
• Acting as a back-up for the HSE Manager.
• Analyzing risks and drafting action plans for safety and environment.
• Training employees in an educational and structured manner to reduce identified risks while ensuring an efficient organization.
• Coordinating and monitoring relationships and actions with service providers and external partners, in close cooperation with all departments.
• Updating and monitoring legal requirements in the field of safety and environment.

Project work:

• Developing and implementing projects to prevent emergencies and accidents.
• Organizing the management of emergencies, including evacuation drills and training response teams.
• Promoting a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the company.
• You have a master's degree, preferably in an HSE or technical direction (a Preventieadviseur level I certificate is an advantage).
• You have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bring structure to complex processes.
• You possess communication skills: persuasive, diplomatic and able to motivate others and lead them toward the same goal.
• You are a very good team player, result-oriented, with proven solutions, eager to learn and flexible.
• Experience in project management, if possible related to safety and environment.
• A good command of French and English is essential for this position.
