Your tasks

The position: SoWho !? We are looking for a Java Development Engineer M/F to work on high-stakes projects in the field of aircraft performance and trajectory optimization.

You will contribute to the development of calculation and simulation models used to optimize flight plans, improve takeoff and landing performance, and ensure the reliability of fuel consumption and flight time estimations.

Aeronautical Modeling & Optimization

• Develop and improve aircraft trajectory optimization models.
• Evolve regulatory calculation algorithms for takeoff and landing performance.
• Integrate new aerodynamic and propulsion models.
• Analyze and optimize simulations of departure and arrival procedures.
• Take into account regulatory constraints related to aerial operations.
• Validate the consistency of fuel consumption and flight time estimations.

Software Development & Architecture

• Design and develop microservices dedicated to flight physics simulation.
• Develop microservices enabling the generation of flight plans.
• Design and maintain web services and REST APIs in Java / Spring Boot.
• Participate in the integration of different models and components into a microservices architecture.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of developed solutions.

Quality & Industrialization

• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with development best practices.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
• Guarantee the quality, reliability, and maintainability of components.
• Participate in DevOps practices and the integration of solutions into AWS environments.

Requirements

You have proven experience in Java development, ideally in complex technical environments related to aeronautics, simulation, or industrial systems.

You particularly master

• Java and Spring Boot
• Microservices architectures
• REST APIs
• Hibernate and Maven
• Unit and integration testing practices
• DevOps environments and ideally AWS
• Python, which is a complementary asset.

You also possess good knowledge of optimization algorithms and aircraft performance models.

Knowledge of the Airbus environment and aeronautical performance issues will be particularly appreciated.
