Cantinero/Bartender - Soho Beach House Los Cabos
Scope of work
At Soho House, the Cantinero is responsible for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, serving food, and providing excellent service accompanied by unforgettable experiences to all guests and members visiting a Soho House & Co. property. As a Cantinero, you are an extension of the brand, the Manager team, and the global food and beverage program. As a result, you will be responsible for professional, charismatic behavior and positive energy to create a fun atmosphere that drives conversation and sales.
A successful Cantinero will greet customers, learn and remember their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve drinks. They will also be in charge of product sales, recipe preparation, the use of appropriate equipment and ingredients, and basic cleaning tasks. To succeed as a Soho House Cantinero, you must have a well-groomed appearance and a friendly and engaging personality. You must be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, pleasant, and have a thirst for craft cocktails.
Key responsibilities
Follow service steps and company guidelines to prepare cocktails and other juices and beverages used in the bar.
Maintain a clean and organized section, as well as collaborate with other servers to; wash glassware and utensils after each use, clean up after customers, and clean the work area.
Inform customers and members about beverage options through House Tonic training courses.
Discuss and describe daily specials, seasonal menu dishes, and pairing options to promote upselling by creating an optimal dining experience.
Charge for all items sold and handle a cash register.
Check customer identification to ensure they meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and tobacco products, as well as determine when a customer has consumed too much alcohol.
Organize bottles and glasses to create attractive displays that promote specific beverage options and can increase overall sales and the member/guest experience.
Attend to customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Supervise and maintain an inventory of supplies and delegate item replenishment to Barbacks.
Mix ingredients according to beverage recipes to maintain a globally unified beverage program and a consistent experience.
Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor or Manager.
Teamwork and support in different points of sale.
Necessary experience
More than 2 years of experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
Experience in craft cocktails and working with seasonal perishable products.
Ability to multitask and deliver beverage requests in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining consistency.
Great communication skills and people skills.
Flexible and reliable schedule.
Certified tips.
Microscope.
Knowledge of English is mandatory.
Physical requirements
Must be able to grasp, hold, turn, and carry objects with hands.
Must be able to work standing for at least 8 hours.
Fast movements are required to go from one part of the club to another.
Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
Occasionally kneel, bend, stoop, and climb as necessary.
