Flight Simulator Studies Department Manager (M/F)

RESPONSIBILITIES: AT SOGITEC, YOU WILL BE As Studies Department Manager, you will be integrated into the Simulation Equipment Department within the Simulation Business Division. You will be responsible for a department of about fifteen people bringing together the necessary skills for:

Your tasks

• Study, design, and development of equipment respecting requirements for reliability, maintainability, regulations, standards, and professional risk prevention;
• This notably includes computer systems, audio and video signal processing equipment, interconnection equipment, utilities, metallic structures, cabins and their equipment, and image presentation systems;
• Design of software closely linked to the hardware (firmwares, automatisms...);
• Description, for all equipment, of installation constraints and interfaces within buildings;
• Definition and execution of prototype hardware tests;
• Analysis of project needs and identification of solutions to meet schedules (e.g., outsourcing of activities);

Your main missions will be:-

• Team management:
• Participate in the recruitment of new employees;
• Hierarchically manage the people assigned to the Department;
• Maintain, steer, and advance skills;-

• Supervision of the operational execution of technical activities:
• Ensure compliance with the cost/performance/deadline triad in connection with project managers;
• Business interlocutor for the "make or buy" strategy;
• Quality management: compliance with business rules, proposing evolutions in practices;-

• Provision of technical expertise:
• Provide technical expertise to the Department staff;
• Lead technical monitoring, obsolescence management, and the permanent search for innovation;
• Participate in the drafting of technical proposals and the preparation of quotes;
• Participate in the design reviews of Sogitec systems and products;

Requirements

• With a higher education degree in general engineering or equivalent, you have knowledge in electricity/electronics and possess a strong industrial culture and mastery of relations with subcontractors.-
• You have a significant first experience in managing a Bureau d'Etudes, ideally in the field of electronic/electrical systems;-
• You have good knowledge of CAD software-
• You are capable of investing yourself in understanding technical or functional problems, and sharing your solid problem-solving skills;-
• You are dynamic, autonomous, composed, rigorous, versatile, and possess excellent interpersonal skills;-
• You have excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to manage priorities effectively;-
• You have a good level of English, both spoken and written.
