As the business continues to grow and expand across multiple markets, we are looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to play a key role in strengthening our finance function, supporting business growth initiatives, and partnering closely with leadership to shape the next phase of the company's development.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, the Finance Manager will not only oversee finance operations but also play an instrumental role in supporting regional growth initiatives and building a scalable finance function to support the company's future expansion.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of finance capabilities across Singapore and regional offices, helping establish systems, processes, reporting frameworks, and team structures that can support a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

• Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare management accounts, financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Statutory Compliance, Tax & Audit

• Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and applicable statutory requirements.
• Coordinate annual financial audits and preparation of audit schedules.
• Manage GST submissions, corporate tax matters, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, banks, and relevant authorities.
• Maintain appropriate internal controls and governance processes.

Business Partnering & Financial Planning

• Partner with Project Managers and business leaders to understand project progress, resource requirements, and project financial performance.
• Monitor project budgets, profitability, work-in-progress (WIP), billing status, collections, and revenue performance.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure timely invoicing and accurate revenue tracking.
• Prepare revenue forecasts, cash flow projections, budgeting, and business performance reports.
• Develop financial reporting and dashboards to support management decision-making.

Commercial & Operational Support

• Support management in reviewing fee proposals, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), consultancy agreements, and client contracts from a financial perspective.
• Assess commercial terms, payment milestones, billing requirements, and cash flow implications.
• Support project profitability analysis and commercial decision-making.

Regional Operations & Strategic Initiatives

• Support regional business operations and expansion initiatives.
• Coordinate with external service providers, legal advisors, tax consultants, and corporate secretaries where required.
• Identify and manage government grants, funding schemes, and business support programmes where applicable.
• Participate in finance process improvements and system enhancement initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

• Partner with Directors to strengthen and scale the finance function as the business grows.
• Contribute to the development of finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting frameworks across the organization.
• Participate in future hiring, onboarding, training, and development of finance team members where required.
• Support the establishment of finance capabilities across Singapore and regional operations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to management on finance, operational, and business matters.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 - 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Experience managing full sets of accounts and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Singapore statutory reporting
• GST compliance
• Corporate tax processes
• Audit coordination
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cash flow management
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore, or equivalent.
• Experience in a professional services, consultancy, architecture, engineering, design, construction, or project-based environment.
• Familiarity with project accounting, project billing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience supporting regional operations or business expansion activities.
• Experience with government grants and funding programmes such as Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Market Readiness Assistance (MRA), Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), or similar initiatives.
• Familiarity with Middle East or regional business operations would be advantageous.
