Your tasks

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Steward / Cleaner to support our Central Kitchen operations.

This is a hands-on role responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment, event equipment, utensils and work areas, while helping to keep our Central Kitchen safe, organised and ready for daily catering operations.

• Wash and clean pots, pans, trays, utensils, food containers and kitchen equipment
• Clean catering and event equipment returned from off-site events
• Sweep, mop and maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors and work areas
• Clean sinks, racks, tables and storage areas
• Dispose of rubbish and food waste properly
• Wash, dry and return cleaned equipment to the correct storage locations
• Help organise event equipment, boxes and storage areas
• Report damaged, missing or faulty equipment to the supervisor
• Assist with loading, unloading and moving catering equipment when required
• Follow food hygiene, workplace safety and cleaning SOPs
• Support general housekeeping and stewarding duties in the Central Kitchen
• Carry out other operational duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
• Able to lift and move catering equipment safely
• Reliable, punctual and responsible
• Able to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good housekeeping and cleanliness standards
• Willing to support team members during busy periods
• Previous experience as a kitchen steward, cleaner, dishwasher or F&B support staff is an advantage
• Training will be provided for suitable candidates

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the workplace and does not wait to be constantly reminded.

You should be able to recognise and act on basic workplace issues such as:

• dirty equipment that needs cleaning
• rubbish that needs to be cleared
• wet floors or unsafe areas
• equipment returned to the wrong location
• damaged equipment that needs to be reported
