Your tasks

Within the group, you will join the Data & IA Hub: the Data & IA competency center for the 26 countries of the SOCOTEC group. The Hub is experiencing strong workforce growth with projects both internally and for the group's clients.

Integrated into the Data & IA Hub team, you will join a young team composed of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and ML Engineers.

You will work on two main missions

• In project mode, you will participate in the end-to-end management of final projects: data collection, preprocessing pipeline, modeling, and deployment. You will contribute to the development of the group's 4 main axes:

• Inspection 4.0: development of computer vision and NLP algorithms to support business experts in the field
• SOCOTEC Assistants: development of personalized agents for the group's services (RAG, text-to-SQL, …)
• IA+X for new services: development of hybridization techniques between physics and IA (digital twin, PINN)
• Information extraction from documents and plans

• You will choose an R&D topic to confront the state-of-the-art in the field with possibilities for scientific publication. The topics are presented and detailed below:

• Inspection 4.0: Machine learning applied to the inspection of civil engineering structures
• Technical content auto-completion for report writing
• Knowledge Management Agents with advanced RAG techniques
• Smart speech-to-text with intelligent information extraction
• Computer Vision: detection and classification of electrical components

The work will be done in collaboration with a team of developers to develop the models and host the deliverables on an AWS web platform.

You will take part in captivating, large-scale projects where you will have a real role to play!

Requirements

You will demonstrate autonomy, sagacity, and certain qualities in the writing and communication of your code.

• Student in the final year of an engineering school or a Master's in data science, IA, or applied mathematics
• Very good mastery of Python and the data science ecosystem (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Solid foundations in machine learning and deep learning; initial experience in computer vision, NLP, or LLM is a plus
• Good software development practices (git, tests, documentation)
• Familiarity with a public cloud (ideally AWS) is appreciated
• Autonomy, curiosity, scientific rigor, and writing and communication skills
• Professional English: you will interact with international teams

This internship is part of a pre-hiring process: interns demonstrating their autonomy and technical mastery are regularly offered a CDI at the end of their internship.

Evolution opportunities internationally also exist within the group, notably in VIE or CDI in the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Vietnam.
