Tasks:
- Determine crew sizes.
- Determine equipment requirements.
- Determine logging operation methods.
- Recommend measures to improve work methods.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Establish work schedules.
- Oversee safety of operations.
- Prepare and submit reports.
- Train or arrange for training.
- Ensure adherence to government regulations.
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers.
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff.
Supervision:
11-15 people. Logging and forestry labourers. Silviculture and forestry workers. Working groups. Staff in various areas of responsibility.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :
Industrial First Aid Certificate.
Computer and technology knowledge:
MS Excel. MS Office. MS Outlook. MS Word. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
Security and safety:
Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract).
Transportation/travel information:
Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Drive manual transmission vehicle. Travel expenses paid by employer. Vehicle supplied by employer.
