Machined Packaging Engineer

At Smurfit Westrock, a leader in the sustainable packaging industry, we are looking for a Machined Packaging Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for advising on and installing mechanical assembly equipment, ensuring its correct operation and maintenance. Additionally, you will provide training and technical support to customers, strengthen strategic relationships with technicians and operators, resolve issues in machined packaging, and identify new business and improvement opportunities.

What are we looking for?

• Professionals in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• More than 3 years of experience in maintenance engineering, processes, or automation projects.
• English level B1 or higher.
• Knowledge in pneumatics, mechanics, electronics, and PLC programming, and proficiency in 3D design tools (SolidWorks).
• Availability to work from Bogotá or Medellín.

What will you do?

• Seek new machining opportunities in existing and potential customers, in accordance with the plants' strategy and alongside the corporate machined packaging Specialist.
• Install mechanical packaging equipment and supervise the behavior of boxes in the assembly machines, visiting customers' process lines.
• Provide technical support to Cluster customers who have automatic box assembly machines.
• Identify and resolve any failure or defect that occurs during box assembly to ensure the reliability of the mechanical assembly service.
• Manage a database of customer equipment, recording opportunities, visits, and work performed on them.
