Build products that make a real difference for homeowners As a Junior Software Engineer , you’ll help build SMG Real Estate, and the experiences behind Homegate and ImmoScout24 , two of Switzerland’s leading real estate marketplaces. You’ll work on accounts, identity, login, and Home Owner World experiences , using TypeScript, Node.js, and Vue.js . You won’t be expected to figure everything out on your own — you’ll have code reviews, pairing, and support from experienced engineers as you grow into the role. We also use AI coding assistants such as Cursor and Codex as part of our everyday engineering toolkit. You’ll learn to use them responsibly: reviewing, testing, understanding, and owning everything you merge. Our engineering organisation is international, with colleagues across Switzerland, Serbia, Vietnam, France, Germany, and India . English is part of your everyday work, and you’ll collaborate with engineers, Product, Analytics, Data, and partner teams. What you’ll work on Build and test features in TypeScript, Node.js, and Vue.js across accounts, identity, and Home Owner World experiences. Ship through GitHub , working with code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD, and occasional multi-repository changes when a user journey spans several services. Grow your AWS skills and learn how our serverless production stack works, with support from senior engineers. Collaborate across teams , including Data, Analytics, Product, and partner teams. Work with Product on real user journeys — clarify requirements, suggest practical solutions, start with a well-scoped slice, and follow it through to delivery. Contribute to improving the way we work , whether through better tests, documentation, tooling, or other team improvements. Your responsibilities will evolve as you gain experience and confidence. Your first 90 days First 30 days Get familiar with our stack, team, and ways of working through hands-on mentorship. Ship your first small, reviewed changes and be able to explain what you built. Join team rituals and communicate confidently in English. Ask questions early and get comfortable navigating the codebase. By 60 days Take ownership of well-scoped work on Dandy Dingoes services. Build practical AWS and production knowledge with support from the team. Start contributing to planning and technical discussions. Learn to clarify requirements before jumping into implementation. By 90 days Own a defined delivery slice from implementation through to completion. Explain your technical choices in PRs or a short technical note. Propose or land at least one team improvement, such as better tests, documentation, or tooling. Collaborate directly with Product and partner teams on shared user journeys
What will you bring to the ride? We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and excited to grow as an engineer. Solid programming fundamentals — whether you have a relevant degree or equivalent hands-on experience. JavaScript or TypeScript experience — or strong programming experience and a genuine willingness to make the switch. Web development fundamentals , with some hands-on experience with Node.js and Vue.js . Curiosity and communication skills — you ask clear questions, share progress, and are comfortable working in English with an international team. A team mindset — you care about understanding how real users depend on the products you build, rather than simply closing tickets. A willingness to learn — AWS and our specific production setup can be learned on the job with support from the team. AI-native curiosity — you’re interested in using tools such as Cursor or Codex to help with specifications, code, and tests, while still understanding, reviewing, and taking ownership of the result.
