Smals - Senior Network Engineer

Your tasks

Your role As a Senior Network Engineer, you are responsible for setting up the network configuration and developing an architecture that best aligns with the needs of the organization and its users.

Specifically, you are responsible for

• the follow-up, management, and monitoring of the network.
• providing expert support to the various ICT teams and within the framework of incident & problem management.

• proposing improvements to the network architecture (technology watch).
• the implementation and testing of DRP solutions.

• problem management and escalation to relevant vendors.
• managing and securing connections with external partners in compliance with the applicable defined security standards.

Requirements

Your profile You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in ICT and have built up relevant experience in network management and network security. You possess thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networks and are familiar with designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise network infrastructures.

You have strong expertise in routing, switching, and security solutions and hold a Cisco CCNP certification. Additionally, you have experience with 802.1x wired and wireless authentication, MAB authentication, Network Access Control (Cisco ISE), firewalls, proxies, VPNs, DNS, and mail relays.

You are familiar with the following technologies and platforms:

• Firewalls & Security: FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, CrowdStrike
• Switching & Routing: Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series (L2/L3)

• Wireless: Cisco WLC 9800 Series, Cisco AP91xx Series
• Network Access Control: Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)

• Monitoring & Management: Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Catalyst Center, Progress WhatsUp Gold
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Route Tables, Load Balancers, VNet Peering)

• Zero Trust Network Access: FortiClient, FortiClient EMS
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, and REST API integrations

• Data models & Structures: XML, JSON, and YAML

In addition to your technical expertise, you are a result-oriented professional who takes responsibility and knows how to develop pragmatic solutions. You work both independently and as part of a team and possess strong communication skills.

Thanks to your eagerness to learn and interest in new technologies, you continuously stay up to date with the latest developments within networking, cloud, and security.

You are flexible, adapt quickly to new environments, and feel comfortable in complex technical environments.

Finally, you have a passive knowledge of French and a good command of technical English.
