Molding Technician

At SL MEX SLP we are looking for a Mold Workshop Leader with experience in maintenance and repair of plastic injection molds. You will be responsible for coordinating workshop activities, ensuring the correct operation of the molds, and leading the technical team to guarantee production continuity.

Main responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mold workshop activities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds.
• Diagnose and repair mold failures.
• Coordinate modifications and improvements to tooling.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and tools.
• Inspect new molds and collect information for their history.
• Manage purchase orders related to the area.
• Record maintenance information in the system.
• Follow up on quality and maintenance standards.
• Distribute workloads among workshop technicians.
• Support the preparation of molds for new projects and pre-production.

Requirements

• Technical degree or Engineering in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic injection mold maintenance.
• At least 3 years of experience supervising personnel.
• Knowledge in repair, adjustment, and maintenance of molds.
• Experience using workshop machinery (lathe, milling machine, grinder, drill, grinder, etc.).
• Interpretation of mechanical blueprints.
• Knowledge of welding for mold repair.
• Management of injection molding processes.
• Leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
