Your tasks
Do you enjoy working across the full IoT stack? In this role you’ll design embedded firmware for low-power devices, connect them through BLE, LoRa or Cellular, and build the cloud architecture and fleet management systems that run them at scale.
You’ll work closely with firmware, hardware and cloud colleagues, shape our CI/CD pipelines, and help improve how we build and deploy as we grow. It’s a hands-on role for someone who likes variety and wants to see their work running in real shipments.
- Design and implement embedded firmware for low-power IoT devices using C/C++ (RTOS or bare-metal)
- Integrate wireless communication technologies such as BLE, LoRa or Cellular
- Design, build and operate cloud-side ingestion pipelines and device fleet management systems for large-scale IoT deployments
- Contribute to the design and deployment of cloud architectures for IoT integrations
- Implement secure and reliable OTA update mechanisms for remote firmware management
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for firmware and cloud components (e.g. GitHub Actions)
- Collaborate with colleagues across firmware, hardware and cloud teams
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across device, connectivity and cloud layers
- Contribute to architecture and process improvements based on emerging best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++ (RTOS or bare-metal), with a good understanding of common interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART)
- Experience with wireless protocols (BLE, LoRa or Cellular) and IoT communication protocols and data formats (MQTT, HTTP/REST, CoAP, Protobuf, JSON)
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based ingestion and device fleet management systems for connected IoT devices at scale
- Experience implementing OTA updates in production systems
- Proficiency in a backend language (e.g. Python, Go, http://Node.js or Java) for device integration, automation and diagnostics, with excellent system-level debugging and problem-solving skills
- Good written and spoken German and English
If you don't meet every requirement but bring relevant experience and skills, we'd still like to hear from you.
