Accounting Specialist - Contract to Perm

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist/Analyst to join my client's Asia Pacific Global Accounting Center. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements across multiple legal entities, supporting statutory and audit requirements, and partnering with business stakeholders to drive compliance and process improvements.

This is a contract to perm role.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial reporting: Prepare monthly statutory journal entries (US GAAP to local GAAP), entity close packages, and variance analysis.
• Audit support: Assist with statutory and internal audits, prepare audit adjustments, investigate issues, and contribute to remediation plans.
• Compliance & documentation: Support transfer pricing documentation, government statistical reporting, and OneSource template reviews.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with business owners, facilitate pre/post close calls, and prepare Director’s Pack for approvals.
• Specialized accounting: Manage pension and intangible accounting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP policies.
• Process improvement: Contribute to implementation of new and improved processes across statutory reporting and audit functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Accountancy
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting , internal audit, or public accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ability to apply theory in practice
• Excellent analytical , problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders and remote teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Self-motivated team player who thrives in a dynamic environment
