The temporary staff will support the planning, development and execution of social media content for SWDA’s corporate social media platforms. The role will provide additional capacity to support the increased volume and scope of social media work following the formation of SWDA, including new employer-focused and youth/IHL content workstreams.

What you will be working on:

  1. Social Media Content Development and Management
  • Develop and adapt social media content, including copy, visuals and short-form videos, for SWDA’s social media platforms.
  • Translate programme, policy and industry-related information into accessible and engaging social-first content for different target audiences.
  • Support the end-to-end content development process, from ideation and scripting to production, clearances, publishing and post-publication monitoring.
  • Adapt content and messaging according to the audience, format and role of each social media platform.
  • Support event coverage and other time-sensitive social media content where required.
  1. Stakeholder Coordination
  • Work with internal divisions to understand their communications objectives and advise on suitable social media content approaches.
  • Coordinate content inputs, timelines, reviews and clearances with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that social media content is accurate, timely and aligned with SWDA’s communications objectives and social media standards.
  1. Employer-Focused Content
  • Support the development and implementation of new employer-focused social media content for LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Work with relevant divisions to identify suitable workforce and skills insights, including information from the Jobs-Skills Portal, and translate these into accessible social-first content.
  • Support the development and management of an ongoing employer content pipeline.
  1. IHL and Youth Content Co-Creation
  • Support partnerships with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to co-create social media content targeted at students, fresh graduates and younger audiences.
  • Develop content briefs and coordinate with participating IHLs and students throughout the content development process.
  • Review and refine co-created content to ensure alignment with SWDA’s messaging, communications objectives and social media standards.
  • Support the evaluation of IHL co-creation pilots to assess their potential as a sustainable supplementary content model.
  1. Content Production and Performance Monitoring
  • Support social media shoots and content production, including scripting, coordination and basic content production/editing where required.
  • Monitor published content and support community management across SWDA’s social media platforms.
  • Track content performance and identify relevant insights to inform future content development and optimisation.
  • Support social media reporting and other operational requirements as needed.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Mass Communications or a related discipline.
  • Good writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible social media content.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Experience or interest in social media content creation, including short-form video and visual content.
  • Good stakeholder management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Familiarity with basic design and/or video editing tools would be an advantage.
